Privacy Policy

Information you submit directly

If you submit the early-access Google Form, you may share an email address and optional responses about your interests, region, device, or discovery needs. Google processes form activity under its own terms and privacy policy; Amatok receives submitted responses to manage early access.

We do not promise or assume that submitting the form creates any entitlement to account features, launch timing, or guaranteed availability of future services.

Profile identity and local storage

Amatok creates a stable, bearer-backed Profile for each viewer. Creating or connecting an account is optional and separate; the Profile supports essential identity and eligible Product activity.

On the web, the access token, persistent client cache, and anonymous saves may be stored in browser local storage. Native clients use secure device storage for the access token and appropriate local storage for cache and saves.

Optional account attachment

Optional account attachment links a viewer's existing Profile to an account; creating or connecting an account is optional.

When you attach an account, eligible anonymous device-local saves automatically merge into that account.

Account-backed likes and saves can then be available in signed-in sessions where supported.

Product feed operations and impressions

• Amatok records minimal Product impression events needed to run the feed, limit abuse, and improve reliability.
• Impressions are best-effort and may be delayed or prevented by offline conditions, errors, or blocked environments.
• This recording is treated as part of essential feed operation and does not have a separate analytics-consent gate in this flow.

Interactions and user content

Likes, saves, and comment submissions are stored against your Profile when you are using an authenticated account flow.

Comment reads are public by default to support community discovery, while comment ownership is associated with internal Profile data in our systems.

Amatok does not currently expose commenter contact details or public Profile identity with comments.

Destination services and external product pages

When you open product destinations or Offer links, your interaction is handled by the destination provider’s platform. Those providers process your actions under their own privacy policies and service terms.

If you consent to analytics, Google Analytics may record an outbound-link interaction before you leave Amatok. Affiliate click and conversion reporting comes separately from destination providers and may be delayed.

Pricing, stock, shipping, and return terms are controlled by those providers and may change over time.

Optional website analytics

With your permission, Amatok uses Google Analytics across amatok.net and market.amatok.net to understand visits and interactions, including page views, scroll activity, and outbound-link interactions. Google may process browser, device, approximate location, and interaction data to provide these reports.

Google Analytics does not load until you accept analytics. Your choice is stored in a first-party cookie shared across Amatok subdomains for up to six months. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the Cookie preferences control; withdrawing disables analytics storage and removes accessible Google Analytics cookies from Amatok in that browser.

Google processes analytics data under its own terms and privacy policy. Amatok does not use this integration for advertising personalization.

Service providers and data sharing

• Amatok does not sell personal information.
• Google services are used for early-access response collection and response handling.
• Google Analytics provides optional website measurement only after analytics consent.
• Infrastructure and hosting partners provide delivery, caching, and operational reliability for the website and API.
• CDN, hosting, and logging providers process limited technical data as needed to operate, secure, and monitor the service.
• Data is shared with providers only as needed to deliver the service described in this policy.

What is collected and why

• Technical data needed to run the site and app (such as request, error, and security-related metadata).
• Minimal feed and Product metadata necessary to render discovery surfaces and deliver Product details.
• Server-side Account/Profile state supports account-backed actions and comments; anonymous local saves are covered by local storage.

Retention and deletion requests

We retain data only as long as needed for legitimate operations, legal obligations, abuse prevention, and legitimate product support needs.

You can request access, correction, account-level data deletion, and withdrawal of consent where applicable by contacting us. Some data may be constrained by operational or legal backup requirements.

International processing and security

Some service operations and providers may process data outside your country or region, including in cloud regions used by our infrastructure and logging providers.

We apply reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including transport protections and secure configuration. No storage or transmission method is completely secure.

Local device storage (for credentials and profile/session state) remains your device’s responsibility to protect from direct access.

Children and policy changes

• Amatok is not directed to children under 16; people under 16 should not submit early access, create an account, or post comments.
• Amatok may update this policy as features and integrations evolve. Changes are posted with a new last-updated date at the top.
